I think that the topic of rejection was dealt with in this book in a concise and interesting manner. The booklet is very short and can be read through in 1 or 2 sittings, which is good.To make use of the tools, however, will take a little longer and depends on your own willingness to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal past hurts and heal them through you. Cultivating new behaviors and stepping out in faith to make friends, think kindly of yourself and others and so forth will also take time and active participation with the Holy Spirit.
I like the fact that Rejection is put into perspective: it is seriously painful and has serious consequences, but it is easy to heal if you allow Jesus to work in you. It doesn't have to cripple you life-long.
What I think could be improved is that some of the steps I feel are explained but no practical example or sample prayer is given. For instance it says that you must just flow a river of love to other people. I think that this concept needs to be thoroughly explained to people and preferably at the hand of a couple of examples.
Also, I feel that hardly any mention is made of the Holy Spirit during the practical steps. It says something to the effect of: Sit and close your eyes and then deal with the first issue / memory which comes up. I prefer to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to me the issue or memory which I need to deal with first. His wisdom, sequence and timing is perfect.
Mention is also made of spiritual "hitchhikers" although what they are and how they work to keep you in captivity is not satisfactorily explained in my opinion. I know that they are speaking of evil spirits but I feel that not calling a spade a spade is more confusing.
Despite these small things I still think that it is a great booklet and I am already making a mental list of friends and family who will really really benefit from reading this book. I believe that if you apply the principles within this book under the guidance of the Holy Spirit then you will be able to life in freedom from rejection, self-rejection and fear of rejection! Seems like everyone suffers with some level of rejection. Maintaining a constant connection with Jesus is not as hard as we have made it and will heal every broken place. This is a great book.
The simple keys presented are dynamic and can truly change your life as it has mine. When I began to let Christ in me point out those areas in my life where I had been rejected I was surprised, first of all that memories surfaced that I had not thought about for years and second of all, how easy it was to just let Christ do the work and then finding how I was changing without "trying" and the true freedom that has resulted from this. If the thought is you're afraid it won't work for you, that is a lie. This is not something that maybe works, it always works because it is Jesus in you doing the work.
